£145,000 mesothelioma compensation for former Cape and Ford Motor's employee
He had worked for Cape Plc at its factory in Barking between 1949 and 1951, employed as a jig and tool inspector. He made regular visits to the factory floor and was exposed to asbestos as a result of the various processes being undertaken around him. The moulding and jig tools which he inspected were often covered with asbestos dust.
He then worked for Ford Motor Company Limited at its factory in Dagenham between 1951 to 1999 where he was exposed to asbestos as a result of work undertaken to the workshop roof, and also by working in the vicinity of Ford’s maintenance staff who repaired asbestos lagged pipework on a regular basis. Asbestos was also used in the production of vehicles and as a shield to protect sensitive components from heat.
Following the issue of proceedings, Boyes Turner lawyers settled his claim in June 2010 for £145,000.
I really appreciated the friendly, efficient and supportive nature of the solicitor.
I would also like to express my thanks to you for your dedication in chasing the defendant's insurance company especially where COVID-19 made an impact.
