Janata’s professional biography
Introduction
My role at Boyes Turner involves assisting young people and families in a range of Special Education Needs (SEN) related cases. I work closely with parents, young people and various support groups to assist at all stages of the SEN process. This could mean requesting more support in school, requesting a formal assessment of a child’s SEN and securing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP). This can also involve running Tribunal appeals for parents and securing a change of school placement to somewhere more suitable to the child’s needs.
Areas of expertise
I have 16 years of experience in the area of Education Law. I have particular expertise in handling challenging and highly complex Tribunal appeals and am recognised for successfully undertaking wide ranging work in the field of education law. I assist families with extremely vulnerable children who have profound, complex and multiple disabilities seeking additional specialist educational provision and often residential school placements, at independent special schools.
In public
I have given many talks and provided training sessions on SEN law, Tribunal Appeals, report writing and EHCPs to parents, charities, therapists and school staff. I also write articles on all of these areas for parents and other experts on our website.
