Tara Byrne

Tara Byrne

Associate - Solicitor

As a solicitor in Boyes Turner’s outstanding clinical negligence group, Tara represents clients in claims involving amputations, serious orthopaedic injury, or disability resulting from delayed diagnosis and treatment of cancer. She also acts for the bereaved spouses or dependent children of patients who have died as a result of negligent medical care.

Tara’s professional biography

Tara assists the group’s partners, Susan Brown and Richard Money-Kyrle, in the investigation, quantification and court work associated with high value cases involving cerebral palsy and other serious neurological injury, meningitis and spinal injury. She assisted Richard Money-Kyrle in the landmark primary victim case relating to maternal psychiatric injury, YAH v Medway NHS Foundation Trust [2018] EWHC 2964 (QB).

It was Tara’s earliest work placement experience of meeting people with life changing injuries that inspired her interest in helping people affected by medical negligence. Recognising how difficult it can be for injured and vulnerable patients to discuss their personal experiences with a lawyer, Tara aims to put new clients at ease and guide them supportively through the claims process. She builds strong relationships with her clients and finds helping them achieve successful outcomes to their claims immensely rewarding.

Tara’s charitable work has included volunteering with Cancer Research UK and Women’s Aid. She is an active supporter of Meningitis Now, participating in events such as WAG for Meningitis.

She is a member of the Law Society and is an APIL accredited Litigator.

"We cannot praise and thank the team enough"
Tara Byrne, Rachel Makore, and the team were nothing but efficient, thorough, empathetic, methodical and clever in their approach to our claim, with a strong eye for seeing both sides of the equation to better equip for our case. When several other solicitors refused to take us on, they did so securing an £800,000 compensation claim which will make us financially secure for our future in light of my injuries sustained, and the financial impact caused both past and present as a direct consequence. This will enable us to continue living as we have been prior to the indexed event without the financial pressures the negligence has led on to. We cannot praise and thank the team enough. We are forever in their debt. Professional from start to finish. Thank you again!
"I have been impressed"
“Tara Byrne kept me well informed at all stages of my claim. I have been impressed with the way my case was handled, and the time scale within which a settlement was reached.”
