Our asbestos claims lawyers were instructed by Mr M who developed asbestosis as a result of exposure to asbestos during his employment as a carpenter by Brown & Richardson Limited and the CEGB.

Mr M was exposed to asbestos when he was employed by Brown & Richardson Limited between 1953 and 1966 whilst cutting and fixing asbestos cement sheets and asbestos insulation board.

Mr M was exposed to asbestos when he was employed by the CEGB between 1966 and 1975 when he inhaled asbestos fibres when he worked in the boiler room and turbine hall at Croydon Power Station.

The claim was complicated by the fact that Mr M suffered from unrelated leukaemia in addition to asbestosis. The claim was also complicated by the fact that Mr M lived overseas for periods in Spain and in Australia and Mr M underwent medical investigations in relation to his asbestosis in both Spain and Australia.

Settlement of the claim was agreed in the sum of £40,000 gross.
