Boyes Turner’s neonatal brain injury lawyers secured compensation for a child who suffered kernicterus brain injury as a result of delayed treatment for neonatal (newborn) jaundice as a premature baby.

Our client was born prematurely at 25 weeks. He developed jaundice shortly after his birth which should have been monitored and treated. Instead, there was a negligent delay in starting his phototherapy treatment. He suffered kernicterus brain damage from the excessive bilirubin in his blood penetrating and causing injury to his brain.

We pursued a claim for compensation for our client and his family against the defendant hospital. The case settled out of court for a significant sum of compensation.

If you have suffered a serious injury or disability as a result of medical negligence and would like to find out more about making a claim, you can talk to one of our specialist solicitors, free and confidentially, by contacting us here.
