We have been recently representing a client in respect of injuries sustained as a result of an accident which occurred during the course of her employment. Our client was in a trade show, when the whole back wall of a stand collapsed forward, landing on our client's back and head. The force of the impact knocked her off her feet. We directed the claim against the exhibition stand provider for that particular centre and were able to show that they were to blame for the accident. As a result of the accident our client developed cervical and dorsal pain. She failed to respond to treatment as, despite having triggered point injections and several sessions of physiotherapy treatment, her symptoms were still ongoing. Our medical expert was of the view that in the absence of successful treatment, her symptoms were likely to last indefinitely. The claim settled out of court for just over £27,000 and included the cost of future treatment, care and assistance and Smith & Manchester award.
