Make a CICA or violent crime claim
A CICA or violent crime claim application must be made in writing. We can assist you in completing this form.
Once the authority receives the signed form, which includes your permission to the authority to seek information from third parties such as employers and medical professionals relevant to the application. A caseworker will be allocated to make direct contact with us regarding your application.
The authority aims to provide a decision in 90% of cases within 12 months of receiving the application although it may take much longer if there are complex medical issues to be addressed or difficulties obtaining evidence from the police or employers.
Our criminal injury solicitors will ensure that your application is dealt with properly and that all relevant evidence is made available to the authority.
How much compensation will I receive?
Compensation is made up of a standard amount of compensation (commonly known as a tariff or injury award) plus an additional amount of compensation for loss of earnings and/or special expenses if appropriate. These may include loss associated with NHS treatment and in some cases costs of private health treatment, cost of special equipment, adaptations to accommodation and care needed as a result of your personal injury.
We can use our experience to ensure that the compensation you receive under the scheme is maximised.
Talk to us confidentially and without charge on 0800 015 4567. We will explain what to do next and whether you have a case for criminal injury compensation.
Thank you again for everything, I am so happy that I can finally look towards the future and start drawing a line under the accident and putting it in the past where it belongs...I don't think I've felt this happy in ages, it's like a massive weight has been lifted from my shoulders just knowing that it's all done.
