As a paralegal and secretary in Boyes Turner’s highly respected Court of Protection team, Victoria enjoys using her administrative and clerical skills to help partner, Ruth Meyer, keep the deputyship accounts, invoices and paperwork in order. Victoria’s eye for detail and affinity for numbers are perfectly suited to the careful work of sorting, checking and paying of invoices that is involved in managing deputyship and trust accounts for severely injured clients. She helps with opening trustee and deputyship bank accounts and prepares the administration necessary for the team’s solicitors to get matters started for each new client.
Victoria’s administrative role also involves arranging security bonds for each new case where Ruth Meyer is appointed deputy. She completes the annual deputy report and other Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) forms, dealing with any queries from the OPG as they arise.
Victoria supports the Court of Protection team with their bills of costs, liaising with the costs draftsman and the Senior Courts Cost Office (SCCO) and calculating and implementing any alterations to the bill on assessment before the returning the bill summary and the assessed bill to the SCCO.
Aside from administration, Victoria assists with arranging deputyship visits and trustee meetings with clients. She’s always happy to help take messages from clients over the phone.
In her spare time, you’ll find Victoria doing something creative – knitting or crochet, hand-making greetings cards or baking cakes for her work colleagues. She also likes to read and play MMORPG games.
The service was personal, professional and considered. I was treated so kindly and in the end I knew that not only had I found the right organisation but also the right person.
