Successful conclusion of mesothelioma claim for widow
Boyes Turner specialist asbestos claims team acted for Mrs T in a claim against her husbands' father's former employers, following his death from mesothelioma. This case involved exposure to asbestos dust which was brought into the family home on Mr T's father's overalls.
Mr T Snr was employed by the Universal Asbestos Manufacturing Company at Tolpits Lane in Watford. This company was dissolved and there were no public liability insurers to meet the claim. We succeeded against the Cape holding company of Universal Asbestos two weeks before trial. The case was further complicated because we were only able to sue for ten months of asbestos exposure, this being the limited time that Mr T Jnr was living in the family home from the point at which the holding company bought the Cape factory. Cape fiercely defended this claim and we were pleased to bring it to a successful conclusion.
Mrs T commented:
“You made a difficult situation easier to bear because of the “human” way you dealt with us as your clients. I especially appreciate this while going through a very emotional and traumatic time in my life.”
The service was personal, professional and considered. I was treated so kindly and in the end I knew that not only had I found the right organisation but also the right person.
