Mesothelioma compensation for dependents of Rolls Royce employee

Boyes Turner successfully claimed £300,000 in compensation for the widow and son of man who died of the asbestos related cancer, mesothelioma, following exposure while working at Rolls Royce.

Between 1967 and 1971 Mr B was employed by Rolls Royce Plc as an engineer and worked at their premises in Derby. During the course of his employment, he was exposed to asbestos.

Mr B was married and had an adult son who was financially dependent on him. Sadly, Mr B passed away and the claim was therefore taken over by Mrs B, who pursued the claim on behalf of the estate and herself and her son as dependents.

Loss of future earnings

Mr B was a hard working man who had built up two of his own companies. A report from a forensic accountant was obtained in relation to the future earnings of the companies.

Mrs B’s claim was settled in September 2011 for £300,000 gross, which includes a dependency claim for herself and her son.

I really appreciated the friendly, efficient and supportive nature of the solicitor.

I would also like to express my thanks to you for your dedication in chasing the defendant's insurance company especially where COVID-19 made an impact.
