Hospital negligence claim - new mother's deep vein thrombosis

We acted for a 30 year old woman in a case of hospital negligence where she developed deep vein thrombosis in her left ileac system following the delivery of her child. She complained of pain and was assessed but the DVT was missed and she was sent home.

The woman went back to hospital again, but negligent hospital staff failed to diagnose her DVT for a month, and only after she started to develop chronic symptoms.

After diagnosis she was aggressively anti-coagulated but the failure to diagnose the condition had caused her considerable pain and suffering and the inability to care properly for her children for a limited period.

Legal aid was obtained and court proceedings were issued. Following negotiations with the defendants' solicitors the matter was settled for £20k plus full payment of her legal expenses.

The service was personal, professional and considered. I was treated so kindly and in the end I knew that not only had I found the right organisation but also the right person.
