Boyes Turner’s RTA claims lawyers secured a £65,000 settlement for a client who was injured when his stationary van was hit from behind by a car transporter.Our client suffered soft tissue injuries to his neck, back and knees. He had a history of knee pain before the accident, but this had improved with physiotherapy. The pain in his right knee deteriorated after the accident, probably as a result of a blow to the front of the knee during the collision. Our medical expert attributed 70% of our client’s ongoing problems with his right knee to the accident.Our client also suffered a psychological injury from the accident, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression. He was prescribed anti-depressants and attended cognitive behavioural therapy. Over time, the severity of his psychological condition reduced from moderate/severe to mild.We put our client’s claim to the insurers for the driver of the car transporter, who initially denied responsibility but later admitted liability.
