We have been instructed to represent a client in relation to a road traffic accident . Our client was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by her husband along the M26 towards London when the defendant’s vehicle hit the offside rear of our client’s vehicle causing the car to hit the barriers on the left hand side of the road.

The accident was caused by the negligence of the defendant and liability has been admitted.

Our client sustained injuries to her neck, back, hip, legs, shoulder and left arm. As a result of the accident her promotion at work was delayed due to her not being able to complete the programme which she was enrolled on at the time of the accident. She has made a full recovery from all her symptoms but was left with ongoing lower back pain at nuisance level.

The defendant’s insurers put forward an offer of settlement in the sum of £5,800 which was considered too low. We have issued court proceedings and entered judgment against the defendant as they failed to file a defence. The matter was listed for an assessment of damages hearing. The matter settled in the sum of £16,000 before the hearing.
