Boyes Turner’s injury lawyers secured a settlement of £120,000 for a cyclist who was thrown over the handlebars of his bike when the defendant drive his moped across his path, causing a collision.

Our client suffered injuries to his knee, ankle and finger. Following the accident, the constant pain in his knee made it difficult to walk or pursue any physical activities. He suffered a psychological injury.

We obtained experts’ reports from a knee specialist and a psychiatrist who recommended that our client should have specialist sports physiotherapy and CBT treatment to help his physical and psychological recovery. Our client had lost his job was a result of the accident and could not pay for the treatment, so we applied to the court for an order for an interim (advance) payment of £10,000.

The defendant made a formal offer to settle our client’s claim for £80,000, and after further negotiations the case settled out of court for £120,000. Our client’s claim was funded by a no win no fee agreement (CFA).
