Successful mesothelioma claim for the family of a former C BUTT LIMITED worker
Boyes Turner’s specialist asbestos lawyers were instructed in January 2008 by the family of a man who had died from malignant mesothelioma on 1 June 2007.
He had been a qualified HGV driver and had been a driver for the majority of his working life. He worked for C Butt Limited between 1969 and the mid 1980s.
During his employment he had regularly visited an asbestos factory to undertake deliveries/collections but other than this very little was known about his asbestos exposure.
Mesothelioma Claim
To support the mesothelioma claim, Boyes Turner's asbestos lawyers placed a witness appeal in the local press and a former colleague of the deceased man came forward and provided the information required relating to his asbestos exposure whilst undertaking deliveries/collections at the asbestos factory.
Despite this evidence, C Butt Limited’s solicitors fought the case and it was only after the issue of court proceedings that matters settled in June 2010, shortly before the first court hearing.
The family received £80k in compensation.
