Pleural plaques and pleural thickening after asbestos exposure - £40k compensation for heating engineer
Boyes Turner's specialist industrial disease lawyers were instructed by a man who had been diagnosed with pleural plaques. Given that he was symptomatic, a medical expert was instructed to prepare a report to assess whether his symptoms were caused by his pleural plaques. The medical expert confirmed that in addition to suffering from pleural plaques, he also suffered from pleural thickening as a result of asbestos exposure.
Our client had initially been exposed to asbestos whilst working as an apprentice heating and ventilating engineer. He later worked as a heating supervisor.
There were three Defendants, all of which were pursued. His claim has now settled for £40k in compensation on a full and final basis.
