£110k mesothelioma claim for widow of electrician
Boyes Turner's mesothelioma lawyers were instructed at a late stage in a case where a man had been diagnosed with mesothelioma and died in September 2005.
It had not been possible to take a lifetime statement from the man but his wife and son gave evidence about his work as an electrician, particularly at the local hospital and at Perkins Diesel Engines in Peterborough.
As Boyes Turner was instructed very late in the day we issued proceedings to protect our client’s position. The mesothelioma claim was defended for many months. but eventually settled for £110k - a small discount (25%) on the full value to reflect the litigation risk -especially as there was no direct evidence from the victim himself.
