Fatal Mesothelioma Claim following exposure to asbestos at Courage Brewery, Bristol

We were instructed in November 2008 by the widow of a man who sadly died of malignant mesothelioma in September 2007.

He had developed mesothelioma as a result of exposure to asbestos during his employment as a process worker at Courage Bristol Brewery between the 1960’s and the 1990’s. A claim was brought against Brewman Western Limited.

He was exposed to asbestos on a regular basis from asbestos lagged pipes. He was not provided with any warnings, ventilation or protective clothing.

Our specialist industrial disease team went to great lengths to find witnesses who worked alongside him at the Courage Bristol Brewery so that they could provide supportive statements.

We found several people who were able to provide evidence and we were able to bring a successful claim for compensation on behalf of his estate and a dependency claim on behalf of his wife which was settled for £111.8k
