Mesothelioma claim against Prescott (No 1) Limited

Our client was sadly diagnosed in March 2009 with the asbestos related cancer, mesothelioma. This was caused by asbestos exposure while he was working for Kitsons Insulation Limited (now known as Prescott (No 1) Limited, as an insulation apprentice in the 1950’s.

This role involved him assisting a qualified insulator with insulation work on pipes and boilers. He was required to remove the old asbestos lagging which was worn and crumbled easily, forming a powder. He also had to apply new lagging to the pipes. This required him either to cut prefabricated asbestos or to mix up a paste from asbestos powder. He worked in a confined space without proper ventilation or protective equipment.
